Coralie the coat rack was a commissioned piece from a client who had a large entrance hallway.
She wanted somewhere to hang coats and bags, and put glasses, and odds and ends. At the same time she wanted a sculptural piece with flair.
Coralie was based on the idea of branching coral and drawn up in Rhino. The timber (Birch ply) was cut out on a CNC router, and the joinery and finishing done by hand. (Photos: Tiago Brissos and Vivienne Wong, Northside Studio)

My reason for making furniture is the satisfaction from designing an original piece and then bringing it into being. I think of my work more as an artistic endeavour rather than simply manufacturing. That’s why I don’t make copies of other work.
I like to work with clients collaboratively, first discussing style, size, materials and broad ideas. We might sketch some rough concepts, and once you’ve agreed on an outline, we then work through the design details until you are happy. See here for full terms and conditions.
